Arrow Northern Alberta RCMP are investigating two snowmobile deaths

Late Saturday night, a group of snowmobilers were travelling east of High Level when one of the riders fell off his machine. He was then allegedly run over by a friend who was following behind.

Both passersby and police helped perform CPR on the man, but he was declared dead once transported to hospital, said High Level RCMP.

Raymond Auger has been charged with impaired driving and impaired driving causing death.

RCMP are also investigating after a man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his snowmobile crashed into a tree about 10 kilometres from Fort Chipewyan, in the northeastern corner of the province.

He was alone on his snowmobile at the time, but others were travelling with him on other vehicles, Fort McMurray RCMP Const. Karolina Malik said.

Neither of the man has yet been publicly identified.
